SAFP President and FIFPRO BOARD member Dr Lucien W. Valloni:

“We are very pleased that the numerous efforts of FIFPRO, its players unions and the 150 national women players who sent a position paper to FIFA have now been crowned with success. Of course, further negotiations are still necessary, but the political direction is extremely positive and promising for women’s football. SAFP will continue to advocate for equality between women’s and men’s national teams at national level, as we have been doing for some time. There is also a need for further action here. But we are confident that we can make further progress at national level as well.”
